1 out of 5 stars GIVING THIS A (1) IS WAY TOO MUCH   August 15, 2007

I really like Charlize Theron as an actress and was really impressed with Monster. The power and emotion that came across in that film was superb. Also being a huge fan of sci fi I was really looking forward to this film.

But OMG this was terrible beyond terrible. The acting was shockingly bad, there was below zero chemistry between to two lead characters. In the end I just couldn't wait for this to finish.

The story line has weight and should of come across well on cinema, but I just can't get across how bad this is. Please don't waste almost two hours of your life with this, your life is worth much much more than this.

5 out of 5 stars Flux tastic!   June 14, 2007

If you liked Equillibrium, and like lovely ladies knocking the bejesus out of people your gonna love this. Its like Daniel Craig in a girl suit, only better looking. Theron plays a blinder, loads of action, and a reasonable story line. Well worth watching, have watched it 4 times on Sky, so decided had better get it on DVD. A great film, well worth having in the collection.

2 out of 5 stars Lacks what made Aeon Flux amazing   June 13, 2007

If you have seen the cartoons you will know what I mean. There is always a very sinister feeling behind every episode - I mean Aeon dies all the time! This film failed to recreate the urgency, the lust, the passion and most of all the dangerous allure of Aeon. Nothing wrong with the actors and the costumes though the cgi was dodgy at times. It just didn't have the "I don't know what...", and leaves you feeling empty and thinking "Was that it?". I'd rather do my laundry than sit through this again.

1 out of 5 stars Just watched, never want to again.   June 12, 2007

This film makes *no* sense, it is confusing for the most part, but eventually, if you pay attention the confusing bits work out. HOWEVER the bits that make no sense remain so; such as why Aeon Flux actually has to do anything in the first place. This coupled with so-so CGI and boring action sequences means that even the plot twists, which are rather nice can't lift this film above one star.
FYI I have also seen and would recomend The Matrix and Equilibrium.
