5 out of 5 stars Hilarious and perceptive   January 16, 2006

My six year old son, Joshua, thinks this is the funniest book ever - particularly for the story "Jocky" in which the boys use some Naughty Words ("Great fat nit!") which are endlessly repeated by the foreign boy who (apparently) doesn't know what they mean.

The stories each follow a similar formula - the children cause mayhem, have a great time, and are then baffled by the despair of the adults - but never become repetitive, and they show deep understandning of childrens' (and adults') behaviour.

We are promised more, and I can't wait (it'll be "Jocky" for us here every bedtime until then!)

I really like your book although the story about Rex didn't really fit in. My favourite story was in the football match where everyone argued for ages for no reason - which was very funny. I also liked the story "Cowboys and Indians" where the dad was left tied to a tree.

I think your Nicholas book was extremly good though Rex didn't really fit in. My best story was "A game of football". I thought it was really funny when they argued for no reason. I also liked "Playing Cowboys" when they kept dad tied in a tree.
