Excellent and practical December 7, 2000 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was disappointed to see the other review as I dont agree at all. I am a 43 mother of two who works full time and up until now lived on fast food as I have so little time to cook. I identified with many of the scenarios in the book and have implemented some of the food suggestions and lifestyle tips. I found them easy to follow, and eminently practical. The information contained in the book is not at all 'patronising' and in fact seems to be easy to follow yet still obviously based in fact. Decent recipes that are preapred in a few minutes from everyday foods have meant that I have found time to make better food for me and for my kids. I feel a whole lot better and am delighted with the results. Full marks to the author.
Surprisingly good December 6, 2000 I was a little sceptical about this before I read it because it seemed to rely on striking photographs more than text. However, on reading it, I understood the cause of many of the day to day problems I was having, such as tiredness and craving sweets. I followed the plan for three weeks before I felt anything, and now I am delighted to say that I feel 100% better. The plan is sensible, easy to follow, and explains much of the jargon in very easy to understand language, that other books seem to forget to do. The recipes are good, not the best, but then the book does say that its not a cook book, and that the recipes are for real people to follow.I recommend this to everyone who lives in a city, who works hard or long hours, or anyone who wants to improve their health the easy way.
a waste of money November 21, 2000 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
don't bother, this is probably the most patronising health book I have ever read. Practically all the information is simple common sense that can be gained from common media. How many of us don't know that it is advisable to drink water after a night's drinking. Some suggestions that are perhaps less than obvious in their approach would be so impossible to follow that the book really rather humourous. If my doctor suggested similar lifestyles I would laugh out loud.
