Fun Foray into French Culture September 13, 2005 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
Thoroughly enjoyable with some laugh out loud moments. The writer shares with us her passion for all things French as she learns French, begins writing about France and gets to know Paris. Written with a great sense of humour, and lots of detail about all the people she met along the way. Reading this book is a bit like listening to a friend telling you about her travels and I was sorry when I'd finished it.
Unbelievably bad April 27, 2005 3 out of 7 found this review helpful
This book is an embarassment, An Australian trying to be French by wearing scarves and capri pants, and calling everyone else in the book 'bogans'. In describing another woman "she wasn't french, would never be french and should stop annoying everyone by trying". Perhaps the author should take her own advice. What makes it worse is this book is not fiction, the author is writing about herself in the first person.
Misleading Title March 8, 2005 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
This book is already released in Autralia and is not about how to be french. This book is about the authors life and it is very boring and very badly written. There is lots of punctuation mistakes through-out the book. The author always saying she is so beautiful and pretty but there is a photo in the back so I am very embarassed. There is a book called "Finding Your Inner French Girl" which I would recommend.
