POLITICS OF CORRECTNESS June 6, 2008 3 out of 17 found this review helpful
Doctor who is one of the best all time Sci-fi shows. Unfortunately after starting off in the 1st series with great potential and well written epidsodes it has turned into a vehicle for political correctness and Ideological indoctrinational story lines.
The Effemination of all male characters (including the doctor who runs around like an epeleptic spider on drugs screaming and ranting like a girlies blouse) makes any credibility of the great potential of the story lines seem tepid. All the male characters we meet are weak, pathetic or have huge flaws in their persona.
The use of Enviromentalist agenda and global warming is obvious. The producers and writers are exploiting young people and adults by their obvious environmalist agendas. NASA AND The 3 other main agencies have proven that for the last 10 years the earth has been cooling and that we just don't know what our treatment of the planet is doing. (I am not saying that the planet is not in trouble and that polution is not an issue that needs to be tackled urgently).
A majority of the episodes were well written, humourous, interesting plots and challenging story lines which fit in well with Sci-fi genre, however, too many were inconsistent, contradictory and implausible on many levels which left me thinking that it is sad that such a show has been "kidnapped" by left wing humanists with a liberal agenda of indoctrination.
Over all Doctor Who had a few really great episode/story lines but was interspersed with too much propoganda which was so obvious and yet I wanted to watch and hope that it will return to plots which we can enjoy for their own sake.
Doctor Who? May 30, 2008 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
The question still goes on and on and we're no closer to knowing the answer. This is the television version of cluedo which has lasted for, I think, three hundred years now. Prepare yourself for more saucy shenagins and soft-core beastiality.

More Quality Time With The Doctor! April 30, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is the 3rd series of the "new" Doctor Who and the second to feature David Tennant in the title role. He has really settled into this and his new sidekick Martha (well played by Freema Agyeman) proves to be an excellent foil. There are some first-class episodes in this series, particularly 'Blink', 'The Lazarus Experiment', '42', 'Human Nature', and 'The Family of Blood'. 'Blink' is one of the cleverest episodes of Doctor Who ever made. The last 3 linked episodes 'Utopia', 'Sound of Drums' and 'Last of the Timelords' work really well, including some outstanding make-up and special effects. I would say this is the best series of the new Doctor we have had. Extras include David Tennant's video diary and some promotional clips. This is great TV and I look forward to the release of the 4th series on DVD. Highly recommended!
Ups and Downs April 3, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I'm still a huge Doctor Who fan, which makes me quite nervous when I think that the writing might easily at any point plummet downwards. So far it's staying more good than bad. Everyone says the episode Blink was fantastic, and I can't agree more. It was the best Dr Who episode I've ever seen. (Granted, I've only seen the last three series). Some of the episodes were great, some were alright and some were...um, not brilliant. 'Blink' was great, bits of the stuff with the Master in were good. The episode 'Utopia' for example was quite excellent. The episode I think it was called '42', that wasn't too bad, I mean it was very similar to 'The Impossible Planet' but not completely the same. It was sort've like the writer had seen the film "Sunshine" and thought "This is how it should have gone..." and I agree with him. That film would have been far cooler... Bits of 'Family of Blood' were good, the poignant scenes about humanity, war and childhood lost etc. That was good. The hammy stuff where the villains literally cackled and preened was just...corny. A lot of the villains are really cliched, they hiss through fangs and cackle maniacally with each other over and over again. *sigh* I've heard it said that the old Doctor Who was camp and corny and all the rest of it. But that was then, and this is now and so I'm judging it by the standards of today. It still passes though, on the whole. Watch Doctor Who!!
