5 out of 5 stars A group decision   July 15, 2008
This book is great full of many ideas some which i knew and others, bought this book after everybody on my forum chat group was buying the same book and talking of how nice what they baked was, up until now i have made the strawberry cheese cake muffins which are weird but delicious and banana tea bread. Shall bake some more in the summer holiday. though 2nd best to BeRo

4 out of 5 stars st lucia banana cake   June 15, 2008
this is a fab little book. i work in a small coffee shop and bake cakes to sell there, my customers love the St Lucia banana cake and i often have to bake 2 a week to keep them happy.its rich without the heavyness of a fruit cake, scrummy.

5 out of 5 stars Great baking book full of simple, easy to follow recipes   May 6, 2008
I was given this lovely little book as a present and it has been very useful and rewarding. It gives you a wide range of unfussy, simple recipes for many different types of `bakes' e.g. tortes, loafs, muffins and cookies, suitable for many different occasions. The instructions are clear and helpful, including advice as to how long things keep, whether they freeze well etc. Personally, I like to follow simple recipes that work well which I can then adapt to suit my own tastes, and this book is perfect for this. Each recipe is accompanied by a picture which is always a help. The only thing I would say is there are an awful lot of recipes which include nuts. This is not a problem limited to this baking book (Delia's baking recipes are often brimming with nuts), and indeed is not necessarily a problem unless you are allergic, which unfortunately my housemate is. This book is excellent value for money and I would definitely buy more of this series.

5 out of 5 stars Great little cook book   April 2, 2008
I bought this book a good while ago and it's one of the best value for money cook books you will ever buy. Great, clear recipies with pictures of what the end product should look like. I have tried at least half the recipies and have not found a dud yet. Excellent!

5 out of 5 stars Favourtie Cake Book   March 27, 2008
Brilliant selection of recipes, quite a few unusual ideas and the inclusion of the best cake i've ever made - the blueberry and cream cheese one. I've lent this to a friend and am going to have to demand it back.
