5 out of 5 stars UNO- old but still fun   June 26, 2008
UNO is one of those games that you either love or hate. It's really the marmite of card games, but we love it. It's a simple box full of cards that gives a couple of hours of fun with some educational value. Good for rainy days, parties and long car trips!

4 out of 5 stars Old skool card game for everyone!   June 19, 2008
If you're looking for a game to fill a few minutes or hours of a dull holiday or car journey, then look no further than UNO! I am assured this is a vintage game but I've never played it before. Needless to say, it was mere minutes before I'd picked it up and was having a whale of a time, especially when we introduced the rule that the winner must shout 'Uno!' in the most stylized, flourished way they can imagine (though quickly before someone beats them to it!). Cracking laugh, and not to difficult to wrack your brain around. Recommended.

4 out of 5 stars Great Game   June 19, 2008
The simple games are often the best and this is good for 20 minutes of family fun before bed-time or to pass the time on a long journey. My only quibble is I would prefer a more durable and re-usable case for travelling.

4 out of 5 stars Fab game   June 2, 2008
We just introduced our children to this game (and re-introduced ourselves to it after years of not playing it) on a wet week's holiday in Wales. I had forgotten what a great game this is. We had lots of fun playing and trying desperately to get rid of our cards. Ignore the 7+ age range. I have a 5 year old and a 3.5 year old and they were both playing it quite happily - as a family, with other children or just the 2 of them on their own.... I can highly recommend it for good old-fashioned family fun that can involve all the generations!

5 out of 5 stars Superb game for adults and kids   May 30, 2008
This game is great - there's no other word for it. At the risk of sounding like a bit of an old duffer - you can pack away your play stations for the night and enjoy a bit of good old fashioned family entertainment - if you want. I on the other hand found that my friends turned into some of the most ruthless and competitive individuals I have ever seen -this has got to be one of the most competitive games I have ever played!! The key to this is finding the cards that ensure your companions end up picking up a large number of cards as you discard yours. Sounds simple, but the tactics used by some to ensure that particular players ended up with a handful of cards was nothing short of devious! Add to that the fact you can add in a few local rules and this game could turn in to a real all nighter - definitely a five star game for me!
