2 out of 5 stars very disappointing   January 14, 2008

I bought this for my 8 year old niece. It doesn't recognise her voice half the time or gets it wrong. Pretty annoying. Inside is pretty poor too.

1 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY   January 5, 2008

My 7 year daughter (who believed the adverts and had this on her christmas list for ages) was SO disappointed and says it's the "worst toy I ever had". It won't recognise her voice, even with a simple password and the top flap fell off within the first hour of us trying to get it going. The pad inside is disappointing too, allowing for very few messages to be written (if you can ever get into it!). Words cannot express what a waste of money this is and how disappointed your little girl will be. My daughter wanted to throw it against the wall!! The manufacturers and advertisers have a lot to answer for.

2 out of 5 stars password journal   January 3, 2008

I bought this toy for my nearly six year old daughter for xmas. Despite reading the reviews and many of them so negative about it i still went ahead and bought it. This toy was the biggest waste of money and went back as soon as xmas was over. We all tried to get the voice recognition to work, it was mostly hit and miss and 9 times out of 10 did not recognise your password, and when you said light it would tell you the time. This toy caused great frustration for me and my daughter and i really cant believe such a terible toy can be available to buy. Spend your money on something else.

1 out of 5 stars Stick to pen and paper   January 2, 2008

I bought my daughter this toy for Christmas despite the negative feedback it gets and I wish I hadnt. It rarely recognises her voice so will not open. She asked me if we could send it back to Santa and tell him it doesnt work.

I would not recommend this toy.

1 out of 5 stars Yesterday's Speech Recognition Technology   December 27, 2007

One of these peices of rubbish arrived in the Christmas bag. We should have asked Santa to take it back. All settings use speech recognition technology that frankly, doesn't work. As an electronic engineer I must say that this a pathetic attempt at speech recognition. As commands must be clearly spoken, it is useless for my 6 y.o. daughter. It recognises only one spoken command from me. It can't seem to tell the difference between "light", "date", and "time". Command recognition rate is about 10%. It can't even recognise numbers properly. Don't waste your time..
