2 out of 5 stars Limited distance use, unless infront of lens   July 22, 2008

Yes its nice and small, but what nobody has pointed out (i found out after i bought one) is that its only good for about 200mm distance from behind the camera (assuming your infra Red receiver on the camera is at the front. I have a Canon 450D and the receiver is front right ie near the hand grip.
This is no good for taking a picture from a few meters behind the camera.
Very disappointing as this isn't pointed out anywhere.
Ive now bought the Radio wireless remote (about 20+del) and that works to a max distance of 100m.
If you just want to use this remote right at the camera or infront, you'll be fine.
UPDATE.: used my new radio wireless remote now, and its awesome for my use, works from anywhere, never missed a click, and doesnt need to be in 'remote' mode on the camera so you can use it in more modes.

5 out of 5 stars Fab Remote for my Canon 400D camera   June 25, 2008

Bought this for 16, a few pounds cheaper than elsewhere. Delivered very fast and i was amazed how small it actually was( smallest remote i've seen, so clip it securely to camera strap when not in use.)
Because of the remote control and up to two second time delay on shutter release, this will greatly reduce any camera shake. This is a small piece of kit, that in my opinion is a must have tool!

5 out of 5 stars Great things in a small package   June 13, 2008

I bought it after it was recommended in a Canon photography magazine for landscape photography, although it has a multitude of uses for any photography that needs long exposures - particularly macro work. It also has its uses in more fun ways, allowing you to take self-portraits or group photos without having to rely on the 10 second timer! This particular control can be set for instant shutter release or a two second delay, and you can attach it to your camera strap so it's always handy. It's also absolutely tiny, requiring just two 3V CR1220 batteries that come packaged with it.

I'd recommend this to anyone who owns a Canon! It's such a small and cheap piece of kit that it won't break the bank, and you're bound to find a use for it, whether you're taking holiday snaps that you'd like to be in, or if you're botanical photography enthusiast.

A lovely little remote control - really small, which clips onto the camera lanyard for storage, and easy to use!

5 out of 5 stars Best little gadget for your money   February 25, 2008

I use mine on a 350D and it fits neatly onto the camera strap when not in use.
Its perfect for those group shots when your dont want to run around in the ten seconds you get with the built in timer.
But I really bought it for those star pictures where they make arcs in the sky and to try some of the Terrific traffic pictures you always wanted to take but never got round to it.
