Best left in the bottle! February 3, 2006 8 out of 12 found this review helpful
this is just a dice game, simple and as boring as that. We played it once and put it away , useless!
Must have been the result of some drinking sessions... January 31, 2006 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
Very simple concept: take two large corks and drop them onto a hard surface. You score if one or both land on end. Make them slightly tapered so one end is narrower and it becomes more difficult to score with the narrow end down; land a cork that way and you get two points, for the other end it’s one. There are some suggested contests (first to 21 etc.) but at the end of the day it’s really all about dropping corks so there is an element of manual dexterity and a little luck too. Add in whatever activities you feel are suitable to the players – kids could have to run round a table or stand on one leg or something; a late night adult session might involve drinking penalties… you get the idea. Rather like dice games it really depends what you make of it, but can be surprisingly addictive. Otherwise it’s just a bit of short term fun.
Corking! January 17, 2006 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
These Corx are a novel cheap toy, that will give you a minutes enjoyment if you are impatient and impractical, or hours of fun as soon as you get the hang of it. They are a great after-dinner game, perfect for petty gambling, especially if you've practised beforehand! The basic idea of the game is to drop the Corx and try and get them to land black side up. As they are incredibly bouncy, this is a lot harder than it looks, although it becomes a lot easier with practice. The toys are delicate however, and could be easily damaged with sharp objects- although they won't break if you drop them. Educational value- not really, but I don't really think that matters if you want a cheap bit of fun.
