1 out of 5 stars Not impressed   November 10, 2008

Bought this product as a cheap first stab at grinding our own coffee beans. What a false economy. The motor gave up after a month of use (approximately every other day). Wouldn't recommend .

5 out of 5 stars LOOKS GOOD, WORKS SUPERB!   October 27, 2008
I was looking for a sole purpose spice grinder, came across this sleek little bargain and I love it! Really quick, powerful enough for cinnamon sticks, cardamom etc. It works so speedily and has made my life in the kitchen a dream. Quite a sexy little number too...

Knowing James Martins love of machines(cars)I imagined he would not put his name to anything mechanical if he was not happy with it and so it seems tbe with this little beauty. I have used this grinder for about six months now and have no complaints. Design and build are great and is simple to use,you just keep your finger on the button if you want a stronger brew. Recommended. Standard delivery from amazon took just two days.

1 out of 5 stars Hate it   February 29, 2008

I couldn't believe the size of this thing when I got it out of the box: It's a struggle to hold it in one hand with your thumb on the grind button. Most of that bulk seems to be air, judging by the weight.

The lid feels very flimsy, with lots of grooves and ridges that the grounds get caught in. It's easy to screw it on the wrong way round, meaning that the motor won't start until you take it off and put it on again.

I get angry every time I use it -- Not a great contribution to the coffee-making experience.

Well...I've never felt quite so strongly about an electric motor.

Low power grinder with upturned blades at edges instead of a sensible flat blade causing the device to stick on grounds. Turned good coffee into mediocre mud water. Produces a delightful constipated 'arghhh' as it tries to process. I hate it - but that's obvious I guess.
