Product Description
EXILIM CARD EX-S600 is the latest addition to the EXILIM digital camera series. In addition to 6 mega pixel photos, a major addition to this line is the EX-S600?s ability to reduce camera shake instantaneously when recording quality MPEG-4 movies. The EX-S600?s ability to take state-of-the-art movies instantly and easily adds to the versatility and fun of this powerful and high quality digital camera. The EX-S600 fits conveniently in any pocket to go where ever you go, ready to quickly capture special moments. No matter how spontaneous the situation, the EXILIM engine?s Anti Shake DSP reduces blurring caused by shaky hands and/or moving subjects, and the Auto Macro and Quick Shutter functions ensure that photos are properly focused. In addition to enhanced resolution, the EX-S600?s 3X zoom and increased battery life allowing up to 300 shots per battery charge provide significant photographic flexibility. The BEST SHOT menu includes the new Revive Shot, created specifically for taking digital pictures of old album photos. Revive Shot adjusts for obliquity as well as brightly refreshes faded colors. Whether framing a shot, reviewing images, or watching movies, everything is brighter when displayed on the adjustable 2.2 inch LCD?approximately twice as bright as previous models, making it ideal for outdoor use. Small enough to conveniently carry wherever you go, the EX-S600 has one-touch buttons that allow quick start up of the camera to view images and take pictures, as well as one for taking movies, all designed to quickly capture special moments. The EX-S600 connects easily to a TV or PC via the multi cradle, which also doubles as the battery charger. The EX-S600 continues the EXILIM CARD tradition of offering cutting-edge technology packed into a small, slim, and stylish body. With high quality photos, advanced movie recording capabilities, and a tremendous range of remarkable functions, CASIO once again exceed

2 out of 5 stars Lens problems after one year   October 3, 2007
I bought this camera just over a year ago and initially I was very happy. I've now got a lens problem - lens clicks and will not expand completely, which caused focus issues and now won't work at all. From Internet searches this seems to have happened to quite a few people. A couple of other downsides, the metalic case makes the camera difficult to hold (slips through fingers if not careful) and the case is not very tough (scratches and dents after a month of normal use.)

4 out of 5 stars Great little camera   September 12, 2007
I've had one of these for over a year, and have travelled throughout Europe and the US with it and taken thousands of pictures.

Picture quality is really good for a compact camera (Not quite in SLR class, but it's not SLR cost either).

The Night Scene is excellent, getting the exposures spot on. Of course, the shutter speed becomes quite slow, so it needs to be rested on something like a wall or chair, or used with a tripod. Hand holding will result in blurry pictures, but this will happen with any camera, regardless of cost.

Performance wise, the camera is very quick, taking pictures as soon as the shutter is fully depressed, bearing in mind that like most modern cameras now it has a two stage shutter release.

Build quality is good, body is made from stainless steel so is pretty tough. The only weakness is the rear screen. I've broken two through having the camera in a trouser pocket and leaning or sitting on it. Got a tiny hard case for it now so problem solved.

I have had this camera since Christmas 2006, and although the photo quality is amazing and the range of different settings is superb there are a couple of problems.

The lens seems to be a big point of error, "lens error" flashes up every so often, and there seems to be no way of fixing it. Also the lens on mine has recently given up altogether, but luckily I am getting it replaced under warranty.

Also there seems to be a big delay when you push the shutter button to take a photo. sometimes it does not take for a long time.

Altogether, I think the next, revised edition will be near perfection, and of course it's a very slim and attractive camera anyway....but if I was you, I'd hold out until then because this one's got flaws I wouldn't want to pay for.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing little camera!!!   December 29, 2006

I have just recieved this camera as a Christmas present and am extreemly pleased. I wanted a small point and click that I could carry anywhere and that is exactly what I got. Incredibly small, huge display and very easy to use. Docking station is fantastic for charging the battery and transferring pictures to the computer and even attaching directly to the TV!

I couldn't have asked for a better camera and I would definitely recommend (and so would my fiancee who bought it for me after spending hours on the internet looking for the best camera to suit what I wanted!!)

This Camera is ultra slim fits neatly into even the smallest Handbag!!!!!
Takes superb pictures....has lots and lots and lots of shooting modes ie.Children, pets, night portrait....ect. Play with it and you learn the best shots for different situations.
Once u got the right mode worked out the quality is christall clear!!!!
6 MP is more than plenty unless you wish to print postersize photographs...The Quality of the lens is much more important!!!
I love this Camera!!!It comes with a "docking station" which is also small and practical. If you buy this Camera my advice is also buy a 2 GB
HIGH SPEED SD memory card!!Holds plenty of pictures and works even better than ordinary SD cards.I would also purchase an additional NP20 Battery so you can charge one up in case the other one runs out....
