 Outstanding little thing August 27, 2008
I love this little thin. Was very surprised to see how thin it is. Sound quality it amazing. Although as recommended by trustedreview web site I got some better creative headphones.
This thing plays everyhing you through at it. There are no limitations to music types or video types like the apple ipods.
Software is also very good. Zencast to media player and convertor, all good.
90 minute video take roughly 20 minutes to convert at highest quality on my dual core 1.8Ghz CPU
I can only recommend you by this and don't look back

Creative ZEN 4GB MP3 Player
Bought this for my son before he went away. It has lasted nearly 2 years but I expect things to last 10!? It wont turn on - After reading recent reveiws, it seems this is a feature!! My sisters ipod wont work either so I suggest sticking with cd players until they start selling players that work for longer than 10 mins.

First MP3/4 player. Very happy with quality of build, ease of use, quality of sound/images. Has all I was expecting and more . PC connection excellent & supplied software does all I need & more. Tried a Feastronic MP3/4 player but returned, ZEN is much better & cheaper

I bought two players - one for me and my cousin - and both lasted up to 6 weeks before refusing to turn on. The sound quality was good but never got video playback running.
The zen software was a bit excessive particularly having to convert normal video files that play in realplayer to the device.
Creative website is also poor as it only really tries to promote company products with only a downloadable firmware upgrade which is useless when one of its products cannot even be switched on. happy with amazon service but will definitely look past creative products in the future...highly disappointing

I guess I was just unlucky but mine was packed up ready for return within half an hour of trying to get it set-up. I had problems connecting via the USB port, the Zen kept "losing" the connection. Then after a few tries it refused to turn on. By then I'd had enough and it was sent back for a refund.
A general point, the USB cable supplied is virtually useless as it's about 80cm including plugs. The good news is that it's a standard mini plug so you can use a standard lead.
