Shouting is better April 1, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought one on the high street as for a present for my son. It was completely useless. I couldn't hear a thing with it, I took it back and tried another thinking it was faulty, but it was the same so I got my money back. Ended up getting the Binatone 150, more money but it works well.
Simply doesn't work - don't bother with it! March 26, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I agree with all the previous reviewers. My son got one for his birthday and it has been a total disappointment. Neither works indoors nor outdoors. National Geographic is a well known brand with a good reputation but clearly their quality control procedures let this piece of junk slip through.

Agree with the other reviewers this product does not work even out of doors away from any buildings it doesn't work, very loud static and voices hard to make out. I have 2 very disappointed children.I'm surprised National Geo put their name to it. Other items in the range are better quality but one of the torches we got didn't work although the one that did was good.
Appalling tat... January 17, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My brother in-law got these for my son a few years ago. They are truly appalling, badly made, noisy etc. A much better bet are those little PMR standard two-way sets that you can get nearly anywhere these days (from about 20 a pair, multi-channel, low-noise etc). Amazon, Maplin etc...
pointless product, do not accept for free January 6, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
its hard to believe that someone produced this product and considered it to be "of merchantable quality". The instructions (inside the box) say not for use indoors. Using them outdoors doesnt produce a great leap in performance. Almost inaudible in all circumstances they will not operate beyond what is normal earshot. National Geographic have pulled a blinder lending their name to / endorsing this product. The phrase you hear most from children using this product is "can you hear me, over" Two bean tins linked by string would be more fun. I have been unkind and given the product a durability a score of 1 star, as one of the other reviews mentions they will probably last for ever due to lack of use
