OK, but I won't be getting rid of my trusted straighteners just yet! August 28, 2008 In the demo video, it shows the girl going over each bit of hair a couple of times. I had to go over my hair several times to get it dry, which caused some damage to my hair despite having heat protection spray on. Although it did dry and kind of straighten my hair, it didn't style it in the same way that my straighteners do. It left my hair pretty much like blow drying would actually. I still needed to use my straighteners afterwards to get my hair sleek, smooth and curling under at the ends in the way that I like it.
Absolute Rubbish July 30, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have no idea how this product has got so many good reviews. It's absolutely rubbish. I would have given it no stars if I could. I have quite thick hair but only slightly wavy, so this should have worked. I had this as a birthday present and it failed so completely to grip my hair no matter what tension setting was selected, that I assumed it was faulty and returned it. The second one I received was exactly the same. I tried several times in case I just needed to get the hang of it but to no avail. I wasn't expecting poker straight hair and in fact didn't want that, but this was worse than using a hairdryer and straightening brush. Please don't waste your money, the good reviews of this product must be from people connected to the company!
not good for thick hair March 25, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
i have thick, wavy hair and i thought that this product would save me time because i wouldnt have to blowdry before streightening. This is not the case. I rarely use the air brush now because it pulls and seems to take all the gloss away from your hair, this means that i have to use a huge amount of product and then use my streighteners aswell! youd be much better off buying a normal hairdryer. im annoyed that i bought this as im about to buy the remmington wet2straight product to replace it and ill just have to hope that that one does what it says on the tin! i really wouldnt recoment the BEliss too anyone....anyone i liked anway!
hope that helps.
Too much volume for me. February 13, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
It does kind of say this on the packaging but it's worth highlighting, when styling the hair it does put volume into the base of the hair. As I'm trying to go for a sleek look around the side of my head this product didn't work for me, at the sides my hair is of a length of 2-3 inches, this all bushed outwards the opposite from what I was looking for. Therefore I'll need to go back to using normal straighteners.
I'm sure others with slightly longer hair will love this product as it's so easy and fast to use but it's not for me, so back to the shop it went.
At last,an easy-to -do-at-home blow dry that makes you look like you've been to the hairdresser! January 26, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is one gadget I definitely don't regret buying (and believe me there have been several regrets with other purchases in the past). It really does to what it says it does on the box.
I went to the hairdresser the other day and had a short bob cut, and everyone was oohing and ahh-ing about how nice it looked when I went into work the next day. But...I was thinking, yeh it looks nice now, but that's because the hairdresser has blow-dried it so it's all smooth and neat and great-looking. What about when I try to do it myself at home? I'm not renowned for my blow-drying skills!
So I was searching on Amazon and came across this tool which sounded like just what I needed. Well, long story short, I used it for the first time this morning and several (maybe 8-10, but it probably took me longer as it's the first time I've used it) minutes later I had a smooth, straight, perfect looking bob! Wow.
Yes I finished it off very quickly with some hair straighteners for that extra smooth finish, but actually I could have gone out without doing that. I don't like using my straighteners for too long as I worry about the damage to my hair - so this gadget has massively reduced the time I would normally have spent using the straighteners. I literally just quickly ran them over my hair and I was done. No problemo!
A bit about my hair type - my hair is VERY thick and has a natural wave (my hairdresser: quote "gosh you've got alot of hair")- so the BEliss was really up against it. But I have to say it coped extremely well under such difficult conditions (far far better than I could have hoped it would), and I would't hesitate to recommend it to my friends.
(runs off to phone her friend with equally difficult hair....)
