1 out of 5 stars Awful   December 31, 2007

Agree with a few others! having had it for around 3 months it is now useless, it leaks through the tap and through the bottom. it was great for a few weeks but you get what you pay for!! i have just thrown it in the bin and put it down to experience!!

2 out of 5 stars Do not consider this item   June 23, 2007

Sorry to do a hatchet job on this item, but I am afraid it is well deserved. The item is simply not fit for purpose, in that it is unable to accept a load of fruit chucked into it - the blades spin quickly but arent big enough to dice the fruit properly, so it just spins doing very little. Adding milk or water helps, but its predecessor handled significantly more than this one, with less hassle.

The tap idea is a waste of time, as it adds considerably to the amount of cleaning and it isnt capable to dispense 100% of the eventual juice anyway (meaning the jug has to be tipped).

Stick well clear of this one

3 out of 5 stars I would continue looking.......   April 8, 2007

I have had this smoothie maker for a few months, I bought it when it was on offer.

It blends well, there is not problem with that aspect of the blender. However the first setting packed up on me after just a couple of days so I use the 2nd or ice settings, it works fine.

It is fiddly to clean and can be quite difficult to dismantal, I need all my strength to turn the jug away from the blade section to take apart. Also, the washer near the tap has disintergrated, so it leaks slightly.

Finally, small fruits such as blueberries get stuck in the tap so you have to put them in last.

3 out of 5 stars Larger than expected, but does the job!   March 15, 2007

Good Points;
- Makes smoothies, milkshakes, drinks, soups etc
- Really easy to use

Bad Points;
- The smoothie maker was larger than expected, so takes a lot of storage room in the cupboard when not in use.
- Difficult and fiddly to clean. Everything comes apart, but I've found that seeds from fruit like blackberries/raspberries etc tend to get everywhere
- Doesn't always fully blend all ingredients. Often end up with "chunks" of fruit or veg at the bottom.
- The tap often gets clogged (mainly due to the last point!)
- Not a great recipe book included

5 out of 5 stars Smoothie way to go   February 13, 2007

Wonderful, just arrived yesterday tried it to make a banana smoothie and it was just so so easy to use.

Quite a big machine, so was really suprised, I think I was expecting something smaller, so you could easily make up a family of four size smoothie. (Or less, but having the capability to make more is really useful especially in summer months, as the chilled cucumber, advocado and mint cooler sounds delicious). Also slush puppies for everyone out there that enjoys them.

Ideal if feeling a little under the weather health wise (not up to eating) as a nice smoothie has a lot of nourishment and is pleasant to drink, wonderful for getting kiddies to eat fruit without them really realising it.

Cann't wait to try out other smoothie ideas. It does also come with a recipe book, so no having to buy another (saves money).

Only down side is the fact that it says it is not dishwasher proof, a shame really as it really would be a quick and easy breakfast for someone on the go, use, drink then put into dishwasher, but apart from that great.

It is easy to clean by hand though so no real hardship.

I bought mine at less than half price on Amazon, for roughly [...], so am really impressed, not a lot of times can you say that you have bought a bargain and it really turn out to be one, but certainly has. On using it I would have paid the full price though as it does deliver what it says it should.
