Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
La Cafetiere Mukka Express Cappuccino Maker - Cow-print La cafetiere''s latest invention - an incredible 3-tier stovetop cappuccino maker. Using the espresso method, steam simultaneously infuses the coffee and froths the milk! Faster and easier to clean than a conventional cappuccino machine, it''s easy to see why the Mukka has already become a sell-out phenomenon.

5 out of 5 stars Simply fantastic!!   July 4, 2008
I have been drinking the best South American coffee since I remember (my first baby bottle had a double-shot of expresso :-)). I have also been using a stove expresso maker since the time I could reach the stove... and let me tell you, this thing is amazing! No plastic-fantastic electronics or electricity need it, just a solid piece of engineering that produces a wonderful cappuccino EVERY time. As for durability, it looks a lot like my other Bialetti (6 cup Moka Express), and that one has been making my expresso twice a day for the last 10 years!!! what else do you want!! Now, for those of you that give a bad review: READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!! it's as simple as that. I bought it for my wife on her first mother's day ;-) and she is the happiest mommy now. Finally, do yourself a favor, if you are considering this coffee maker go ahead without fear... you will love it!

5 out of 5 stars Makes Great Coffee, never had any problems with it   May 30, 2008
We have been using this excellent coffee maker for nearly a year. It makes great hassle free coffee. Not sure why others have had problems, perhaps not following the instructions or tightening it properly.

If you want something that makes nice tasting coffee without too much fuss then id recommend getting this.

4 out of 5 stars Bit worried by earlier reviews - but really impressed   May 12, 2008
I was nearly put off buying the Express from reading some of the earlier reviews, however I used them to get tips on the dos and don'ts for getting the Express to work. I have produced some really nice cups of coffee, admittedly a few disasters as well, and agree with an earlier comment that the capacity is really just one large cup of coffee. You need to be careful about tightening the two parts to avoid coffee leaking, because this will prevent the pressure building up and will mean no froth. I also keep forgetting to remove the valve before trying to separate the two parts - which makes it impossible since they're still under pressure.

I use the Express on an Aga (which wasn't mentioned in the instructions) and it works really well producing hot coffee.

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant!!!!!!!!!   February 13, 2008
I really was a bit doubtfull about buying this item however its brilliant.
As the only odd cup a day coffee drinker in a house full of tea drinkers it never seemed worth kicking the coffee machine into use as I always seemed to spend more time cleaning it than making coffee. This is great it does just enough for one very quickly and is so quick and easy to clean too. I will point out though that although it says 2 cups it only really makes one decent size one which is perfect for me but may not be for everyone.

1 out of 5 stars The worst kitchen appliance we have ever come across   January 18, 2008
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

My wife was given a Mukka Express stove-top Cappucino maker as a Christmas present last month and we would both say that, far from being the best Christmas present she has ever got, it is the worst kitchen appliance we have come across in forty years. No matter how firmly one tries to screw the two parts together, it still leaks copiously all over the cooker. I am astonished that so many people find it satisfactory, though several have noted the problem mentioned above. Not only that, but apart from managing about a teaspoonfull on one occasion, the device has never produced any foam in the upper compartment either, but perhaps that is because we don't leave it on the cooker for very long, due to the fact that there is coffee and water splashing all over the place.

This "cow" appears to have been very badly designed, and never properly tested before production. It may even just be possible in some cases to prevent the appliance from leaking by using some sort of rubber spanner, or gardening gloves, or so some reviewers have kindly suggested above (though how they found this acceptable is beyond me) but surely the least that might be expected is a proper seal between the two parts? I couldn't recommend this product to anybody. No thanks, we have wasted enough time, coffee and milk on it. It is going straight back for a refund.
