2 out of 5 stars unnecessarily complicated   June 10, 2008

this is fine i suppose if you are going on hols and need this language to get by, but nothing more..then i would say 5 stars buy it - although the hebrew writing section at the beginning will put you off big time
but if like me, you are a hebrew language student it's not so great...i don't want to learn to ask where the toilet is and for fish and chips..i want to learn the language of Jesus..ok...he might have asked for fish and chips but i somehow think not : )
alright for tourists...who need the toilet and like fish and chips
(the stickers don't help, i felt like my 2 year old nephew with his bob builder magazines)

5 out of 5 stars Exceptional if a whole family is going abroad.   May 8, 2001

unbeatable if a family is visiting forign relations. It is childlike in its approach with plenty of colourful illustrations so all the family can grasp what is wanted. Even the youngest ones can look at the stickers ('window' fixed by the window for instance)with verbal reinforcement. Older ones can take part in the lessons in a similar way to doing crosswords together. If the children don't grab the book and fill in all the puzzle lessons first!

4 out of 5 stars Fantastic book for aspiring Hebrew learners!   October 7, 2000

I was really interested in learning Hebrew, and this book was so helpful - it has a clear, easy format, as well as extras, such as flashcards and stickers to help you. You only need to devote ten minutes of each day to help you learn. I really recommend it, especially for anyone planning to visit Israel. Have fun learning using this great book!
