This product can be a useful tool if your expectations are realistic. If you're expecting it to translate a letter you've just written (or received), I would say forget it. The product doesn't handle grammar and its choice of words often fails to fit the particular context. However, where this product comes into its own is translating large files, texts from the internet or other documents very quickly in order to get the gist of what the document is saying. It can help you focus in on the bits that are relevant to you, so that you only end up reaching for the dictionary for the last 20% of the document... but you will need to reach for the dictionary at some point! It's useful to quickly filter out irrelevant text written in a foreign language, but be warned that you may also filter out important text. In summary, it's a useful tool for certain applications, but definitely a hammer rather than a scalpel.

OK,Systrans it isn't,but it is a useful tool PROVIDING YOU ALREADY HAVE A BASIC KNOWLEDGE of the language in question.Like all translation software it also requires the user to think carefully about what they actually want to say - for example,a football MATCH must be described as a GAME,otherwise it will be translated as 'match' as in 'to light fires'.If you have that basic knowledge of the language then you will spot errors like that.So,useful - but use with caution!

In the manufacturer's description says:"Language Translator provides quick and easy translations in Spanish, French, German, English, Italian and Portuguese" but it's only from Spanish, French, German, Italian and Portuguese TO ENGLISH, and FROM ENGLISH TO the other 5 languages.
In the manufacturer's description also says:"Language Translator is a full-blown machine translation tool. Unlike some 'translation' programs, Language Translator doesn't just replace individual words; instead it breaks down complex sentence structures, identifies parts of speech, resolves ambiguities and synthesizes the information into the components and structures of the new language."
This program translate word by word, doesn't "break down complex sentence structures", doesn't "identifie parts of speech" and doesn't "resolves ambiguities and synthesizes the information into the components and structures of the new language."
I need a transaltor because I don't know the other languages, and the program only works in Spanish or English. Do I have to know another languages to work with a translator????
I'm very dissapointed, and this item, in my opinion, got very negative mark!

If you need to translate "yes" from French to English this software is for you, however if you need to translate something more complicated I would look elsewhere. I used it to translate a short e-mail from French to English and couldn't stop laughing at the result. As for Web pages, forget it. Nice gimmick.
