An absolutely perfect work of majesterial genius .Stephen Duffy's the best songsmith in Britain right now and this early release shows why .Beautiful. Imperious . Acoustic . Perfect .
What fantastic songs, what a great singer, it's ... immaculate .
(hard to single one out but i especially adore Grey Skies and Work Things)
So buy it .

It's a close run thing actually. Probably for sheer turn-the-lights-off moodiness, this edges it over 'Looking For A Day In The Night' but there's very little in it. They are far and away, my two fave albums from this band. It's production quality is wonderfully ethereal but the melodies are, as usual, very strong and the lyrics are up to his usual high standards. If I had a gripe, i'd say the recording wasn't quite the clearest i've ever heard, but with songs this special, who gives a rats?!!
