4 out of 5 stars Brilliant package for Molly fans   August 9, 2006

As we wait for new material and recover from the moshpits on the recent UK tour we have this little beauty to keep us interested. The DVD has about 100 minutes of live footage, interviews and general Molly material all of which is most cool! Some of the older live footage is superb and the profiles and interviews are quite 'telling' without being intrusive - they've just let the band members talk and filmed it. Hearbreaking scenes when Dave King is playing in his mum's house and when they visit his Dad's grave. The CD has five acoustic versions on which are all superb and alomst as good as the originals ... but not quite. There are then five storming live versions which do a fair job of taking you back to a Molly gig - but you'll need to cover yourself in beer and jump up and down for 2 hours to get the real experience! One comment about the band and their influences - they always talk about Johnny Cash and Joe Strummer and always go on about how different and unique they are - both musically and image wise. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this band and the records and shows are awesome. HOWEVER, and this is an important point, what about the Pogues? They did this stuff over 20 years ago and I fail to see how Molly cannot have been influenced by them. Check out 'Red Roses For Me' if you've only ever heard 'The Fairytale of New York'. Moan over .. now go and buy the discs and get moshing.

Warning this is not a live DVD its a 2 hour documentary of the band with a cd thats half a live show and half an acoustic album. It wasnt what i expected hence the 4 stars. The documentary is filmed whilst recording an touring their last album and has plenty of live footage. Overall its woth buying for the price but is aimed at the hardcore fanS PLEASE BRING OUT A FULL LENGTH LIVE DVD!!!!
