1 out of 5 stars Totally unreliable   May 14, 2008

Well, I would have to agree with pretty much all the previous reviews, the positive ones mention all the good points and the negative ones mention pretty much all the problems I've found.
On the plus side the adaptor is very easy to set up, and at times it works perfectly. Unfortunately the majority of the time it lags like mad and becomes totally unusable. There doesn't seem to be any reason why it switches between the two, making it extra frustrating. Overpriced to start with, it's just not worth the money.

Update: Here is something you might like to know. If you own a laptop with wireless internet you can actually use this to connect your xbox to the internet! Just set your laptop to allow shared connections and run an ethernet cable between the laptop and the xbox. I didn't realise you could do this but it works perfectly, no lag, no random crashes, it only ever goes wrong when there is a problem with my network! I can't believe microsoft are flogging this adaptor when all you need is the cable that comes with your xbox. I'm assuming if you have a wireless network most of you will have a wireless capable computer so for most of you this is 60 totally wasted!

5 out of 5 stars exactly what it says on the tin   April 20, 2008

it seems a shame that microsoft feels the need to squeeze every last penny out of us, i dont belive the ps3 needs one of these things, but this bridge is good, very simple to use just plug it in the back and it even clips onto your xbox. it certainly saves having a thick black wire trailing through your house. This bridge is as good as your wireless...i can pick up 6 differnt wireless networks from my room: two of which is guessed the password for :)

in my opinion this could be abit cheaper but there is no point shopping around cuz this is the going rate (even after 3 years!)

The only reason that i do not have xbox live is because of the stupidly high price that i would have to pay to get it. 55 for this and then 40 for xbox live subscription is an absolute joke. I also own a wii on the other hand, and online play is instantly at your finger tips. A built in wireless adaptor that found my internet connection within about 10 seconds and then free online play with no subscriptions. Free online play is also avalible for the PS3 aswell so i don't understand how microsoft are getting way with charging 100.

For this product itself, my friend has one and it was fairly easy to set up so there aren't really any problems with it but you can buy a wireless adaptor for 30-40 that does the eact same job for almost half the price. These are more differcult to set up though so i'd have a friend or relative handy who's good with computers if i took that route.

1 out of 5 stars Rubbish!!   April 16, 2008

I bought this and all it does is pick up a weak signal and drop the connection every few minutes. You can buy an ethernet cable from solwise that has a mains plug tht you plug into a socket near your router. You then plug the other end into a power cocket up stairs. An hey presto wireless internet tht plugs into the ethernet port so no loss in signal n no chance of connection loss.

Search amazon for solwise power supply ethernet that what i did and i nerver looked back. Ther are sum cheaper alternative but all of whic are cheaper than this and they work better.

1 out of 5 stars Useless!!!   April 9, 2008

I purchased one of these official Xbox 360 wireless adapters from game a few days ago and it was useless!!

The instructions say just 'plug and play', So I did exactly as it said on the box and .... nothing. Could not find a wireless network. Even next to the router!! Replaced it for a new one and exactly the same thing happened!!!

Basically its just a white shiny box with a red indicator light on it that will cost you 60

Don't waste your money!! stick with Ethernet!!
