this is a very good buy however if u want it to work with a ps3 u need to formatt it in fat32 + it is bigger than a paper back book (unless u read really big books).
There is GOOD and there is BAD .... March 17, 2008 32 out of 36 found this review helpful
I currently have 4 WD drives on my system (1 - 1 TB / RAID and 3 - 500 GB) using both USB and Firewire 800 so I am committed to WDC.
HOWEVER, each of the smaller drives (originally 400 & 500 GB) developed a hardware failure severe enough for WD to deem it replaceable. Good news is their RMA programme is great and service is excellent. However, that said the return charges are starting to be significant.
The 1 TB / RAID drive is configured as RAID 1 as has been excellent. The piece of mind knowing my iTunes library is secure is worth it.
So, think about this purchase. It might have been 'bad luck' that I have had 100% failure on the under a TB drives.

Brilliantly easy March 17, 2008 28 out of 31 found this review helpful
I found this hard drive to deliver everything that I needed and more. It is reliable, fast and gave me the extra hard drive space that I required, without any of the usual horrible installation nightmares. You simply plug it into your USB port (no installation CD's necessary), turn on the computer and it is there, it turns itself on and off when your power or unpower your computer so you don't even have to remember to switch it on. It also comes with various bits software on it which you can choose to install if you like. It looks sleek and chic and sits comfortably beside your computer without looking like an eyesore.
it works!! March 14, 2008 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
it got to my house fast, i plugged it in and chucked some important stuff on it. then i unplugged it. im just using it as mass storage backup, also i plug it into the x-box to play music and films now and again. does the job. back your stuff on to disc though because hard drives dont last forever. things break, if they didnt life would be too easy!
