It doesn't work! May 8, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I was very optimistic for this product having read the other reviews that have been posted. I can't understand why so many people have had success when for me, this product has completely failed. Our neighbour has two cats both of which are still quite happy to come into our back yard. The big cheese does not seem to affect them in anyway, they will happily stroll up to the device completely unfazed.
AMAZING April 16, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This has changed my life, no more scooping cat poop from out of my veggie patch! I've tried many different things to stop our neighbours cat using my veg patch as a loo. Powder deterants and canes stuck into the ground with flappy plastic to name two, I brought the above as a last resort. Brillaint! I dug and prepared the seed bed for my next batch of planting yesterday and having inspected it this morning, it is still perfect and clear of any poop. I went for this product as I hope the sensor design will stop the batteries running out to quick. My only advice is to buy your batteries elsewhere as the postage from the seller on amazon was going to be approx 9.00, very excessive I thought.
Terrible idea if your neighbours have good hearing April 4, 2008 5 out of 16 found this review helpful
My neighbours have one of these in their garden and I'm repeatedly plagued with a high pitched noise that they refuse to turn off. It's environmental pollution of the worst kind - causes terrible headaches and I end up trying to turn up the volume of the TV or radio to drown it out. Doesn't affect the cats, though, ironically.
At last I beat the little devils! April 1, 2008 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
Having suffered my neighbours/neighbourhood cats fouling my garden on a daily basis (not the flowerbeds - but the actual middle of the lawn!), I was really at the end of my thether. My garden was beginning to resemble fort knox, with all the deterents - prikka strips on top of fences, chicken wire across gaps, staking out the back bedroom window with various objects to throw, etc, etc.
Bought this, installed it in the garden, and not one cat has been back in my garden since. I spy them sitting on my neighbours fences - longingly looking into my garden, but not one fresh poop since I installed it! Excellent.
I've got my garden and my life back! March 27, 2008 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I've worked hard to afford MY house with MY garden so I can grow MY own vegetable and plants but have had years of distress fending off OTHER peoples cats fouling around my property. Being partially disabled, I can't do many activities so pottering around my garden is very important to me, both mentally and physically. But the constant stream of cat poo was driving me insane - with numerous neighbours pet cats plus ferral ones breeding furiously in the nearby parkland (irrisponsable cat owners failing to get their pets neutered - that's another story!) they used my garden as a litter tray regardless of all the repellents and guards I spents hundreds of pounds on. They wouldn't even 'dig it in' but left it lying for all to find, on plants, on the lawn, on the patio....even on the chicken wire I'd covered my vegatable seedlings with. But the last straw was walking out to witness a cat squatting off the edge of my shed roof, defecating down onto the ground below! In the summer it stank, on dark nights you had to take a torch out in case you trod in one of their 'little presents' - my visiting young relatives wouldn't play out in the garden and in the end I gave up growing veggies all together - much of the poo is riddled with mites/worms of some sort I just couldn't risk the health implications. My partner and I were spending more time clearing up cat mess than gardening and becoming obsessed with chasing off the moggies lining up to taunt us with their eyes screaming 'come and have a go if you think your quick enough' (which I clearly am not seeings as I walk with a stick!). Cats, even though we don't own one, were ruling, and ruining our lives! Now I'm actually an animal lover, I have pets and am responsible for looking after and cleaning up after them...I do this no probs, but having to clean up after others pets was doing me in! WHY? why should MY quality of life be ruined so? I'd read about these sonic repellents a while ago but was not keen to buy one, I actually worried it would cause harm to animals - no one really knows if this is true...never found reports or tests to confirm they were safe, BUT I was now at the end of my tether, a shadow of my former self and sanity and my health was now more important - on one partic bad day I shocked myself by admitting that if I'd had an air rifle I would have used it on them...this actually reduced me to tears as I was so disgusted with myself for thinking such things - I'D NEVER HURT AN ANIMAL IN MY LIFE...but this was how bad it was getting to me....so THIS HAD TO BE DONE! I brought one....
....and OH MY!- my life has changed dramatically!
WOW! within the one day of fitting it - NO CAT POO! and none since! I can't believe how well it works. The cats we were up against knew no boundaries and would overcome anything to foul on my land....but this has stopped them in their tracks...and seen them fleeing for the hills!
Despite the recent bad weather, I now can't stop going out into my garden and gazing around in amazement - it's so clean! and I'm now busy growing my veggies once more and my young neice and nephew are happy to help plant them out too....something they've never desired, or been allowed to do for fear of getting covered in the wrong sort of brown stuff! Can't wait for the summer when the only aroma I'll be smelling is that of the flowers! And mowing the lawn will actually be a pleasent job - no more hours sifting around for poo, or finding you've missed some and then distributing it around the garden with the flymo like a muck spreader!
I'm sure others out there are suffering as I did so I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT...don't hesitate like I did....GO BUY ONE NOW....I wish I'd got one years ago.
TIPS - definately recommend you use rechargeble batteries. And my niece and nephew can hear the noise it makes and find it quite painful to the ears - so if you have kids around and you're in the garden - TURN IT OFF....just don't forget to switch it back on afterwards!
