5 out of 5 stars I've got my garden and my life back!   March 27, 2008
11 out of 11 found this review helpful

I've worked hard to afford MY house with MY garden so I can grow MY own vegetable and plants but have had years of distress fending off OTHER peoples cats fouling around my property. Being partially disabled, I can't do many activities so pottering around my garden is very important to me, both mentally and physically. But the constant stream of cat poo was driving me insane - with numerous neighbours pet cats plus ferral ones breeding furiously in the nearby parkland (irrisponsable cat owners failing to get their pets neutered - that's another story!) they used my garden as a litter tray regardless of all the repellents and guards I spents hundreds of pounds on. They wouldn't even 'dig it in' but left it lying for all to find, on plants, on the lawn, on the patio....even on the chicken wire I'd covered my vegatable seedlings with. But the last straw was walking out to witness a cat squatting off the edge of my shed roof, defecating down onto the ground below! In the summer it stank, on dark nights you had to take a torch out in case you trod in one of their 'little presents' - my visiting young relatives wouldn't play out in the garden and in the end I gave up growing veggies all together - much of the poo is riddled with mites/worms of some sort I just couldn't risk the health implications. My partner and I were spending more time clearing up cat mess than gardening and becoming obsessed with chasing off the moggies lining up to taunt us with their eyes screaming 'come and have a go if you think your quick enough' (which I clearly am not seeings as I walk with a stick!). Cats, even though we don't own one, were ruling, and ruining our lives! Now I'm actually an animal lover, I have pets and am responsible for looking after and cleaning up after them...I do this no probs, but having to clean up after others pets was doing me in! WHY? why should MY quality of life be ruined so? I'd read about these sonic repellents a while ago but was not keen to buy one, I actually worried it would cause harm to animals - no one really knows if this is true...never found reports or tests to confirm they were safe, BUT I was now at the end of my tether, a shadow of my former self and sanity and my health was now more important - on one partic bad day I shocked myself by admitting that if I'd had an air rifle I would have used it on them...this actually reduced me to tears as I was so disgusted with myself for thinking such things - I'D NEVER HURT AN ANIMAL IN MY LIFE...but this was how bad it was getting to me....so THIS HAD TO BE DONE! I brought one....

....and OH MY!- my life has changed dramatically!

WOW! within the one day of fitting it - NO CAT POO! and none since! I can't believe how well it works. The cats we were up against knew no boundaries and would overcome anything to foul on my land....but this has stopped them in their tracks...and seen them fleeing for the hills!

Despite the recent bad weather, I now can't stop going out into my garden and gazing around in amazement - it's so clean! and I'm now busy growing my veggies once more and my young neice and nephew are happy to help plant them out too....something they've never desired, or been allowed to do for fear of getting covered in the wrong sort of brown stuff! Can't wait for the summer when the only aroma I'll be smelling is that of the flowers! And mowing the lawn will actually be a pleasent job - no more hours sifting around for poo, or finding you've missed some and then distributing it around the garden with the flymo like a muck spreader!

I'm sure others out there are suffering as I did so I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT...don't hesitate like I did....GO BUY ONE NOW....I wish I'd got one years ago.

TIPS - definately recommend you use rechargeble batteries. And my niece and nephew can hear the noise it makes and find it quite painful to the ears - so if you have kids around and you're in the garden - TURN IT OFF....just don't forget to switch it back on afterwards!

2 out of 5 stars Keeps breaking down   March 25, 2008

I thought it was good for the 1st couple of weeks but after I changed the batteries it plays up one day it is ok the next it won't work. I always switch it off if I have washing out as this sets it off but I have troubles switching it back on I have to take the back off and wiggly the wires connected to the battery. Does anyone have this problem?

5 out of 5 stars Goodbye cats   March 19, 2008

I have 4 cats that moved next door late last year, i must admit there had never been a problem with cat litter untill recently...
I bagged up nearly half a dustbin liner of the stuff and thought enough is enough...determined to get rid of them i spent a small fortune on jeyes fluid and sprayed all my borders and lawns to no avail..
People told me citruss lemon smells would keep them away another
20 in chemicals only minimised the situation..more money spent on deterrent gels which i placed all around my rear garden they attacked my front garden..so i covered the front garden they deffacated all over my rear lawns...
I'm not a cat lover and i wouldn't harm them but found myself screaming at them when they were bouncing on my 4 year old daughters huge trampoline and messing next to it..
The big cheese has totally stopped them even walking on my garden..
Ive had one soiling in a week since placing them on my garden and i may have missed that when placing them...
I can't praise this product enough don't waste money on gels disinfectants
and time tying bags to trees to scare cats just purchase the big cheese it
has definately made a difference to my garden :)

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Cat repellant   March 14, 2008
4 out of 4 found this review helpful

I like alot of other owners of this excellent item, became sick and tired of having to clean up after other peoples cats, especially one day when my little boy became covered in cat feaces whilst playing in our garden.
The other problem was that we were unable to leave a door open, even for a brief moment without one particular cat coming into our house, which I found extremely annoying, and with having a young baby in the house, horrified me with the safety issues.
I appreciate that cat owners cannot follow their pets around clearing up after them, but see it from other peoples point of view.
Perhaps with inconsiderate cat owners, we should take a leaf out of Jim Carreys book in the "Me, Myself & Irene" film!!

5 out of 5 stars When 1 star means 5   March 4, 2008

If you read these reviews those that give it 1 star are all saying how good it is at it's job. i.e. keeping cats away from your property and spoiling your garden. Their only reason for "downing" the unit is because it does it's job so well that they feel that the "politically correct" thing to do is let the animals ruin the environment of others. Well worth 5 stars. I love cats too but not the mess that they make on other peoples gardens and lawns.
