Top Glove! August 17, 2004 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
This item may look a bit daft but it really does the trick. I can see why some reviewers would find the glove quite awkward to use if you have small hands (my missus has such issues) but for the average bloke it works fine. Copes admirably with all temperatures and is very easily cleaned. It even comes with a tag so that you can hang it over a cupboard door handle for easy grabbing! Highly recommended product!
No Flexibility July 23, 2004 20 out of 24 found this review helpful
I purchased this for my husband to mainly use on the barbecue but thought I would put it to good use elsewhere in the kitchen. I found it very difficult when trying to remove things from the oven because of the lack of flexibility in the glove and generally awkward. However, my husband did not appear to have such difficulty in using the glove maybe it is more suited to larger hands. I'm sorry to say this has now been relegated to the back of the kitchen cupboard and is one of those gadgets that I didn't really need!
Safe and Handy! July 12, 2004 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I've only been using my blue mitt for a few days, so I've not fully got used to it. I have to say that I feel safe while I'm using it and it's handy to be able to put my hand ( with the mitt on of course ) in boiling water to pick something out...and my hand not scald! The feel of it will take some getting used to, as it basically feels like a washing-up glove when it's on. I've found that it's handy for other things in the kitchen aswell...e.g twisting a tight cap off a jar etc.. So, even though they're more expensive than your average regular oven glove..I'd say they're a good buy!
Too slippery May 10, 2004 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
The mit is genuinely heat proof - much better than fabric gloves, it is also easy to wash. But it gets very slippery when greasy eg when you are taking a roasting tin out of the oven, and so is dangerous - you can easily drop everything . Also you have no dexterity when using the mit. I much prefer the type of glove made in "wetsuit" material- made by Duncans.
ORKA Miricle mitt. April 27, 2004 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
Very good.Took a little time to get used to the lack of "feel" through theglove, when compaired to an oven cloth.Smooth oven tins can be a little bitslippy if there is any fat/oil etc on the glove or tin/tray.Definately amuch safer method of handling hot items.Heavy items would handle easierwith two of these gloves.
