5 out of 5 stars Very fun indeed...   December 5, 2005

I bought the regular itop for my nephew last year, what can I say, it's a brilliant toy, he liked it a lot, I think I liked it even more though. There's something quite facinating about the array of LEDs that creates a message, very clever. Lots of fun games...what can I say, just get it!

5 out of 5 stars Good game - 4 the short time u can play with b4 it breaks!   July 8, 2005

Hi, I managed 3 spins of game play after reading the rules before the top broke. I expect that you intend to spin this on a table - and that occasionally you expect that the top may fall off the table - but it breaks and then works intermittently, the screws holding the two halves together don't hold and the plastic thread breaks. Poor quality toy - don't bother with it!

5 out of 5 stars Great fun   June 24, 2005

Bought one of these for a fellow thirty-something gadget fiend friend. He loves it - and so do I! Great fun for small groups. It's spent some time at his office. Apparently it spins quite well on desks...

Engaging little thing, this is. Doesn't look much, just a disc with a fold-up spindle to turn it into a top. But the LED display is timed so that it can show all sorts of things: revolutions, high score, etc. Very addictive.

I've scored it 4 for durability because it's quite cheap and one wouldn't expect it to be perfectly solid for the money, however the spindle mechanism isn't perfect so I think that a little "play" would develop in the movement over time. The top works well even so.

It's not really educational hence the low rating.

Really good fun though. In addition to the built-in games I'm sure it could be used for all sorts of forfeit/bonus type games for adults as well as children.
