2 out of 5 stars The ultimate beings in the universe don't deserve this!!!   March 28, 2006

As a result of the new series I have become obsessed with Doctor who and particularly the daleks and have accumulated quite a few
dalek miniatures and so on. After getting the amazing 12 inch remote control dalek from this company I thought that this set would certainly be worth the low price amazon was offering. Sadly, i was to be greatly dissapointed. The daleks were extremely poor compared to their bigger brothers. They were badly put together with a huge gap down the centre of the gold one, the heads were off at an angle and the exterminater sits in a great gap in the casing where the big sort of ball bearing should be and worst of all in my opinion is a large clear plastic square in the neck section ,presumably for the infra red, this definately ruins there appearence and for someone who was buying them purely for aesthetic purposes this would definitely put me off. Nevertheless i decided to have a go before confining them to the shelf, after struggling to collect a small army of batteries i started them up, they grind shakily across the table in wide arcs or spin round far faster than they should finally aligning them we started shooting eachothers, They sounded well enough and knew when to die which is useful fir battle! though the firing button on the remote is very stiff.
I did have good fun with them across the table but deemed them unworthy of the batteries, Its not a toy i'd reccomend to a child who wants to get much use out of it in fact i wouldn't reccomend it at all certainly a surprise after the brilliance of the big 12" inch version, if you want a dalek toy its well worth spending the extra money on it!!

1 out of 5 stars What a load of Crap!!   February 6, 2006

I bought this for my 9 and 10 year old boys for Christmas and it didn't work.

I replaced it and the second set didn't work!

A crappy money grubbing spin off of a truly remarkable Sci Fi show.

Bought for my 9 and 10 year olds for Christmas - First set wouldn't shoot, returned - second set the daleks worked for a few minutes and then stopped completely. A fiddle with the batteries and they worked again, all be it very briefly, but the wheels seem to wobble and they are very difficult to control.

All in all a crappy spin off from a fantastic series

This would have been a great toy, but in the first set both daleks had a non-working wheel and in the replacement set one dalek's hit sensor didn't work, so not much good for battling!

Good service from Amazon but poor quality control from the manufacturer.

Shame, because the 12" Dalek is great!!

5 out of 5 stars Great fun - good value   January 16, 2006

This toy is superb fun and good value. The two Daleks are accurately modelled in different colours with matching remote controls. The platics for the remote controls is not of a high quality, but when you consider the asking price, it is to be expected. To get not one, but two remote control Daleks that interact plus a nice, accurate Doctor/Rose figure is good value for money. I am not surprised that the 12 batteries required are not included as this keeps retail price down.

The quality issues mentioned in other reviews may be due to a bad batch or even the wireless broadband implied elsewhere, but I have not had any problems. Overall this is a cracking piece of licenced merchandise that has provided me and my friends with laughs galore.
