5 out of 5 stars Fantastic! Read it.   June 21, 2006

An astonishingly thought-provoking read that seems to cover all the bases on quantum mechanics and M-theory, written in plain layman's English. The explanations satisfy where Hawking's Universe in a Nutshell confounded. Kaku doesn't shy away from the implications or the tough questions quantum mechanics and parallel universe theories hold. The last chapter in particular takes an interesting look at all sides of the question of a Creator, and Kaku gives his own personal viewpoint. The best science book I've read in ages.

5 out of 5 stars The end of the universe?!   April 29, 2005

After seeing the author on BBC News 24's Hardtalk Extra program discussing issues relating to this book, I just knew I had to get it. During the program the author came across as very understandable, knowledgeable and also well read, happily discussing an array of fictional literature and even religious issues, relating these to his discussion of astro physics. I have not thoroughly read the book yet but a good look through suggests his writing style *is* as clear and understandable as he was on TV. Unfortunately I have not read other books about subjects like this, for example Hawking's book, so cannot compare this with other books. However, this book comes highly recommended.
