Very useful little book November 22, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This book is a really good reference tool for cross stitchers with clear illustrations of lots of stitches and their uses. Useful for both inexperienced and experienced crossstitchers. I've been stitching for several years but have found several useful tips in this book which I will now used. I only wish I'd had it years ago.
BRILLIANT! Ideal for the beginner or the experienced. August 18, 2005 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
As an experienced stitcher i was unsure about purchasing this book, wondering if it would tell me anything more than what i already knew. It is perfect for the beginner, explaining the basics and with excellent colour photos. It is also perfect for the more experienced stitcher and has lots of ideas to broaden your stitching ability using other techniques. This book also contains lots of designs for you to use and a stitch library. I would recommend all stitchers of any ability should own a copy of this book!
Very helpful. October 29, 2004 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I disagree with the majority of Amazon reviewers regarding this book: I think it provided both clear instructions for the inexperienced stitcher, and good general information for people like me, who had considerable cross-stitching experience but wanted to move into other areas of embroidery. By following the instructions in this book I've developed skills in several areas of surface embroidery, cut work, and Hardanger. I'd reccommend this book to anybody who wants to increase their embroidery skills.
Good for beginner's and refreshing ageing memories May 2, 2004 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
If you are just starting cross tich or expanding your level of expertise this is an excellent book. The pictures are great. the patterns at the back of the book are fantastic particularly if you enjoy making up your own cross stitch designs. I gave this book to my mother-in-law and she loved it!
