After reading the other reviews and looking at the price I thought it would be worth it. I also bought the Swordfish pouches. Used it the first time, it worked wonderfully, then I put the 2nd one in and it kinkled it. The 3rd one disappeared into it and never came out again.

Just bought this little machine and as a first time user was very pleased at how easy it was to use. It's small and compact and does a brilliant job. As a photographer I use only the best equipment but never costs the earth. I laminated some old photo's I had and I ended up with a beautiful smooth finish. I will most certainly have a great time using this little machine which is also very quiet. Low price, high quality.
 Faulty on/off switch & overheating? May 25, 2008

This looked like a good buy but on trying to use the laminator for the first time the on/off switch was dodgy. It started to heat up and after about 4 minutes or so started to emit quite a bit of toxic smelling smoke with no signs of it slowing down/ burning off because it was the first use.

I bought this laminator for use at home. I am impressed with how compact it is. It is also incredibly easy to use from the very start - even though I'd never used any laminator before and I had 2 young kids hassling me to help!!! It doesn't take long to warm up and is silent in operation. I actually now think I will use it an awful lot more than I thought when I purchased it as it is so quick and easy to use and with great results. Highly recommend.

This is a compact and light weight unit that can be tidied away easily after use. It has two heat settings - the first is for 2*75 micron (total 150 micron) and the second is for 2*125 micron (total 250 microns). There is also a setting if you buy cold (expensive) laminating pouches.
Some of the other laminators that I looked at only handled 150 micron pouches which is why I bought this brand.
The guides for the hot pouches coming out of the laminator at the back are a little flimsy. By the way, this machine does not require a 'carrier' to feed the pouches through.
It is a simple, inexpensive, no frills machine that I might use about 100 times a year. I'm happy with my purchase so far
