 Misconception about postage charges April 2, 2008

Most reviewers here obviously don't realise the situation re Amazon marketplace postage charges. These high postage charges are fixed by Amazon, NOT by the seller. There is nothing the seller can do about them, and most of the charge (more than 50% I have heard) goes to Amazon, not to the seller. That's why many sellers charge a ridiculously low price for the item, so as to mitigate the high postage charge & make the deal more attractive.
It's the ONE MAIN gripe that sellers have against Amazon, and no seller I know is happy with the situation. They complain all the time -- but so far, to no effect.

I bought these and saw the delivery costs before it became too late.
80 postage for 20 packs of batteries.
Amazon should get a grip of these crooks

How can they justify packaging in a small jiffy bag which costs 30p and if you purchase in bulk 10-15p and 75p postage, grand total of 1:05. These guys are charging 4.50 for poastage and packing. A total shame.
To be honest seen the batteries 2 days later for 3.49 at my local morrisons. A total con.
Do not buy at all costs, unless you like throwing away money.

watch out for postage costs:-

The Actual cost of postage once received was 83p plus the cost of a padded envelope around 50p, sorry but 4.50 cannot be justified and can only be classed as a rip off.

Anyone looking for some good, hardy, solid batteries that will go a long way need look no further. These are some of the most advanced non-rechargeable batteries on the market [hence the price tag]. They can withstand just about anything that you can put them through and continue working even after having been crushed, mangled, run over or put under water for a long peroid of time. The full-body closed metal covering prevents leakadge in or out of the battery and insures safety for the user and others around. I have a power-guzzling digital camera, but even so these batteries last for at least 2x as long as cheepie ones in it; [really - more than twice as long, I`m not kidding]. So for anyone out there in need of some good batteries - get these ones because they won`t let you down no matter what you put them through; [unless they run out ofcourse].
