Golden Coin Maker - October 31, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My children had been looking forward to this for ages. They have seen it on the tv and thought they would be making lots of golden coins at christmas. I wasn't so sure but as they were so set on it I bought it them for christmas. What a waste of money my children sadly learnt that the reality of what these advertisers show on the tv is not in fact the reality of trying to make them yourself. Even as I sat with them they were bored to the fact we made two coins and it's never been touched since. It took forever to melt the chocolate then it had to go into the fridge. Children like to be able to make a product and see it in one go not over a period of days. This needs to be clear when advertising these toys as the makers might get their money but what about the dissapointed kids? My opinion don't buy it invest in some shape cutters and melt your own chocolate on kitchen foil, wait to dry and cut them out yourself, cheaper, more fun and a lot less hassel.
oh crikey...why bother! August 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Looks like a fab idea, and my boys of 5 and 3 love it! However, unless your kids are old enough to do it all themselves, don't buy this! It takes 10 minutes of fiddling to melt the chocolate, then 40 minutes in the fridge, then lots of other fiddly jobs to produce 2 (YES 2) gold coins. I was thoughouly fed up by then, put the maker in the loft, and went out and bought the boys half a dozen packs of gold coins each!
Very Poor Entertainment Value June 10, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I found this toy very disappointing. Having bought two of them for my grandchildren I and they were dismayed at the time it took to produce just a few coins and the poor quality of the finished article due to the chocolate melting at not much more than room temperature, therefore making the coins impossible to handle. The grandchildren were really disappointed and have used the machines only once. Poor contents, not enough wrappers. Altogether a total waste of time. I don't think this product should be marketed as it does not do what it it meant to.
great toy April 11, 2008 My kids really enjoyed this, it does take a while but its worth the wait, it keeps the kids occupied for a couple of hours. great fun for the kids.
Coinmaker TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY December 27, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Well, I wish I'd read the reviews here before wasting 15 on this pile of plastic rubbish. My son was desperate for this, having been taken in by the media hype. We have wasted a great deal of time trying to get things right but have had no success so far. He is very disappointed. What a waste of time, money and expectation.
If only there was a zero or minus rating.
