Small but Perfectly Formed August 31, 2008 As many reviewers here have observed, this case is indeed small, and has no space for spares.
It's also true that you can hardly fit the strap in, but actually I found this an advantage. I leave the top zip open and secure the flap using the velcro, with the camera strap out of the case. Then I put both straps around my neck which enables me to whip the camera out at a moment's notice without fear of either dropping it or losing the case.
The camera fits snugly inside the case and it is well protected. It's a basic case but it does the job well.
DCC-90 is NOT COMPATIBLE with Canon S5 IS August 1, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The bag DCC-90 is not compatible with Canon PowerShot S5 IS! It is way too small, the camera won't even fit in the case. Otherwise looks quite ok.
Not suitable for S5 IS August 1, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Potential buyers should note that this case is not large enough to accommodate the Canon S5 IS camera. This has a larger body than the S3 IS. The product itself only includes the S3 IS among the applications.
Amazon should rectify this error in their product appication list.
Incidentally (as of 31 July 2008) the Canon official website does not appear to include a carrying case for the S5 IS.
Too small for the Canon S5 IS July 2, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I like the compact look of this case, but am disappointed to find that there is no way I can close the zip once my Canon S5 IS camera (with or without strap) is in. It's a definate NO!
Camera only bag December 28, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I read the reviews but still proceeded and bought the case. I have had Canon soft cases in the past and they suited my purpose.
Negative : This case IS small - no arguments - you cannot just put the camera strap on the top and zip it closed as it will not close. I found that the strap must be 'fitted' down the side of the lense housing. Positive : The case looks strong and I believed it is designed to be a belt mounted case, (belt loop on the back). It has a velcro flap which comes from the back over to the top and this will take the strain off the zip. Conclusion : The case will protect the camera and if you like the idea of a belt mounted camera then it does fit the bill. But, if you take a lot of single photos you will get tired of the fuss of repacking that strap. (The case has a double zip, so you could leave the camera straps out of the side of the case, not pretty, but the camera is protected.)
