5 out of 5 stars Makes my top 10   August 21, 2007
This book makes it onto my top 10 list of brilliant books! It has such an amazing storyline, and the characters are great! I loved Aurelia,Star and Lucillia, as well as team Mel and Reuben! In this book, it makes you think that Mel would be totally lost without Reubs! What a fab book!

5 out of 5 stars WOW   December 5, 2005
This book is truly amazing - If you are not convinced to buy it yet then I suggest you do... I have read all the 9 books because they are so gripping. I loved this book because of all the interesting things you find out (not just about the romans but about Mel too). Mel origonally signs up for this 'mission' because her crush asked her to and she thought it would be great battling side by side against the cute orlando. However her plans don't quite work out as orlando had other plans and used her to look after a sweet girl with her buddy reuben. Anyway as much as mel is hurt to discover this she soon finds out that this girl is 1 of 3 twins that 'The PODS' (powers of darkness) are trying to keep apart because if they come together... well you'll have to read the book...

Fighting Fit is a fantastic and exciting book. In it Orlando organises a group of volunteers to travel with him to Ancient Rome. Melanie loyally decides to go with Orlando, and together they go to Ancient Rome, along with a bunch of other volunteers, including Orlando. Melanie thinnks this will be an excellent chance to get close to Orlando, but when Melanie and Reuben are bought by a rich merchant girl and Orlando and the rest are sold as Gladiators, Mel's fantasies shrink and dissapear. Then Melanie finds out that Orlando is trying hard to protect a girl gladiator. Who could this gladiator be, and why does Orlando think she is so important?

This must be one of the best books I have ever read. I must say that if you haven't read any of the Angels Unlimited books before I do suggest start with Winging It. The series is all about a girl called Melanie Beeby that got hit by a car the day after her 13th birthday and suddenly found herself at an Angel Academy. In Fighting Fit, Mel visits ancient Rome and is there to save three special girls from the Opposition...
You must, must, must read this book, it is BRILLIANT! (Reviewer is 11 years old)

ok. If you haven't read any of these books before (don't worry, i'm not going to go off on one about how you're really missing out cos thats just plain corny. of course you haven't missed out because there's still time) you might be a bit confused because on the cover there is a picture of a calm looking angel (modern style that is) and then there's the title-Fighting Fit. You don't usualyy associate the words "fighting" and "fit" with calmness, do you? Well let me help you out a bit. That angel doesn't do any fighting, the book contains parts about Gladiators (don't be put off by this, if you read the book you'll discover that they're not the usual stereotypical type of Roman Gladiator) which do the fighting.
Aswell as being touched by the book's well, touching storyline, you actually learn, for example "mella", you learn what it means -read it you'll find out.
OK, alright. If i haven't convinced you by (trying to) unconfuse you about the title and the relavance of the picture, think about how much work was put in by Annie Dalton (and everyone else that helped). Yes, she wrotw a story (which is what most authors do), which is hard enough but she's also done a HUGE amount of research to find out the amazingly (true) facts abouts Ancient Rome (eg. mella). Think about all that hard work that's gone into making this book-surely it deserves a chance to be read by many?!?
If that doesn't persuade you, think about why i've bothered to write all this. If the book wasn't any good, do you really think i would've taken time out of my (yeah right) busy schedule to write ALL this?!!?
If that doesn't persuade you then i'm dearly sorry for wasting your time.
OK, this is my last try. Buy it out of pity for me - i've just embarressed myself on the internet.
thank you. happy reading!
