2 out of 5 stars A biased opinion of the subject   December 5, 2004

This is the sort of book that would appeal to non-academics. The book is full of assumptions and conjecture. It is supposed to cover candida albicans, the naturally occurring yeast within the human body that can grow out of control, giving all manner of unpleasant symptoms. However, considering it is supposed to be writing about a medical condition which it wants the user to take seriously, there is a virtually non-existent reference system, too many biased opinions, and some facts which don't even relate directly to the illness, but are taken from some of the more popular fads from today's 'nutritional experts'.

Read this cheaply printed book, attempt to remember its complex eating rules, and annoy your friends and family with your bizarre eating habits over lunch.

Some people who suffer from candidiasis may find this an interesting collection of possible causes, but there are probably some better presented books on the subject that the sufferer should seek out.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent   June 14, 2001

The best book about candida on the market. Pratical, simple, sensible - full of useful information (like I had to find the BioCare products on the internet - the no for the company is out of date). Having suffered from thrush and tiredness for weeks with western medicine having no result, it was only in reading this book that I realised I had to deal with the cause of my problems, not just cover the symptoms up. Within 3 days of following the diet, I felt a huge energy boost and am already on the way to recovery.

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant, Informative, My new Bible   May 3, 2001

Not only tells you how to beat Candida, but first helps with self-diagnosis. In the 18 months since I bought this book, my wife has gained almost 2 stone in weight (she is now 9 stone), she has got her self confidence back, and now has more than enough energy to cope with our two pre-school boys! What a great book, don't sit reading this review, click on the ADD TO SHOPPING BASKET button and wait by your letter-box. You will not regret it!

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant, innovative and supportive for candida sufferers.   November 26, 2000

Both my partner and I suffer from candida ... a debilitating dis-ease. Gill Jacobs makes the stringent dietary needs of a candida sufferer one big adventure! Eating can still be exciting, even with major restrictions - and this book really helps you stick to the diet by providing interesting, tasty meals which even non-candida sufferers can enjoy! Well done Gill!
