A page turner October 26, 2008 Although Ive always liked Julian Clary, Ive never thought he was brilliant. However, I think as an author he has found his niche!
Murder Most Fab is such an easy and compelling read I got through it in no time - which is saying a lot as Im not a big reader!
The characters really came to life (if indeed a little unbelieveable - Im never sure why authors always have to make their characters super rich, or super famous!?) and the plot was really well thought out. The twists are exemplary, and put him in a league of the greats like Grisham (If indeed a little camper :)).
If you are in 2 minds as to buy it - buy it - you will thank me!

Very pleasantly surprised!! October 25, 2008 I really didn't know what to expect form this book, but from the moment I started to read it, I couldn't put it down. It was an easy read, but fantastically written, and the storyline was great. The characters were well defined and easy to relate to, and I really empathised with the main character Johnny (or JD) who was so likeable despite his misdemeaners. Its not a long book (around 350 pages), and not something I would normally read, but I am so glad I did.....would definately recommend!!!

Very very very very funny! I didn't know what to expect when I bought this book and I certainly didn't get what I thought. However it had to be the funniest book I've read for a while. If this is going to be the standard Julian Clary sets then this is a very talented writer. From the very first sentence you have an idea this is going to be an unusual book!
I genuinely didn't want to put it down. I had to read it over 3 nights and wanted to have read it in one go, it was that enjoyable. The character of Johnny Debonair is fabulous, the problem was though, was that I kept picturing Julian Clary himself. Maybe this wasn't a bad thing as he seemed to describe the character very much like himself.
A laugh a minute but with a sad tale underlying about loneliness and how we exclude ourselves from those around us because we chase what we think are our dreams. Fabulous narrative with well formed characters. You really will be able to visualise all of the characters, even the ones you might not like.
Without any experience of a world like this I just let myself settle in the for the ride. Do the same and you shouldn't be disappointed. I look forward to more fiction from Julian Clary.
an excellent read September 4, 2008 I wasn't expecting too much but very pleasantly surprised. Yes its a bit explicit, but well written and an enjoyable read. I will definitely read Mr Clary's next novel.
Very funny but very far fetched August 27, 2008 Julian Clary is so witty and this book made me laugh out loud. Towards the end the plot became really rather contrived, but as he writes so well you can forgive him.
