good October 3, 2008 It was very slow to get into and it took me four times before I managed to read it all the way through.
I was impressed at the descriptions of the rides and happenings in this book. And all over I found it very good once I got in to it.
Unfortunately, it took until there was about a quarter of the book left to get interesting.

Ultimately unsatisfying September 6, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had high hopes for this book as the suggestion of Westworld meets Die Hard was very enticing. However it turned out to be a fairly generic thriller which didn't take maximum advantage of the setting. There was a distinct lack of originality about the main characters and the robot which was trying to ape a pet dog was a bit irritating. I kept hoping the book would kick into life and take me on the promised rollercoaster ride, but I was left with a feeling of being perpetually stuck in third gear. Ultimately it just seemed to peter out leaving a number of unanswered questions.
Better than I expected March 24, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Having actually picked up this book in a service station, I was more than surprised at how enjoyable this story was. Being a theme park fan, the scene set in the story was quite realistic and it kept flowing the whole time.
I think this is the ideal book for a holiday read when lounging by the pool.
Probably my best ever "free" book September 22, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I received this book second hand as it was left by a ex-colleague of my partner's mother in a locker at her work.
Never heard of the author but thought i would give it a try, as a big fan of Rebus and Peter Robinson but not a fan of Reich i'll try anything once and this was a great page turner. It's nicely layered, with a pacy plot and contains great characters.
It has some technical bits but nothing serious and the interaction between the major characters is great. I was dying to know what would happen to Warne and the 3 ladies in his life!
I can see why it may be seen as "Die Hard" meets "Westworld" but i can see this as a film in its own right.
Highly Recommended
Utopia - an awesome read August 17, 2005 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
A fantastic well written story that completely involves you in the world of Utopia, a massive theme park set in the Nevada desert with the added threat of terrorist activity. You almost feel as you're watching a '24' type scenario that twists and turns as the momentum gains throughout the whole story. A fantastic story with great characters. I was sorry to finish it! Order your copy now, you won't be disappointed.
