5 out of 5 stars If you are working on a J2EE WebSphere project you need this   June 3, 2005

This is one of the most useful text books I've bought in a long time. It covers an often overlooked but very important part of J2EE development - the build and deploy phase. If you are the person who everyone expects will somehow effortlessly make WAS/J2EE apps transition smoothly into production and run happily for years with no discernable effort on your part this is the book you need. For the same reason, although it is not a developer's book, I'd recommend it to any J2EE developer who wants to make sure their next project is a success.

The book does two big things particularly well:
1) It is an excellent resource for automating the build and deploys processes resulting in huge time savings and very reproducible builds.
2) It is incredibly comprehensive on just about every tweakable parameter in the WAS environment not only telling you what values you can change but also why you might want to change them.
