This is an extraordinary book. Once picked up it is hard to put down. The main character does certainly not indear himself to you, yet you find yourself rooting for him as he continues on his fateful journey to create the most distinctive, powerful perfume ever.
This is a unique, original book that should be read and digested. I would whole-heartedly recommend it particularly to those who enjoy a vivid, obscure tale.
