A mouth-watering introduction to wonderful stories March 23, 2008
I read this book when I was ten, and it started me on a lifetime of loving books and immensely enjoying reading.
This is a collection of tasters to some of the most outstanding children's fiction that has been written. It includes modern classics and older stories your parents will have read. Some of the stories included are:
The Phantom Tollbooth, The Borrowers, Trillions, Watership Down, My Friend Mr Leaky, 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, The BFG, Carrie's War, Charlotte's Web, I Am David, The Eighteenth Emergency, The Haunting, Tom's Midnight Garden and so many more.
I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It introduced me to books I had not heard of before, as well as ones that I had but didn't think I would enjoy. There are many books that I would never have read had I not got a nice juicy taster from this book first.
Adults would love this too, it will open your eyes to a whole new fantastic world and you will never look back. It is quite a thick book, and it is just brimming with brilliance. Please buy it, you will not regret it.
