5 out of 5 stars Pukka Tukka!   March 25, 2007

This is a feast of a book and it makes money for Comic Relief. What more can anyone ask for? If people want details then the book is divided into two sections that apply Jamie's panache and flair for simple, yet tasty treats. I recommend the brownies! My kids recommend the flapjacks! We all recommend Jamie!

Lovely!

4 out of 5 stars Healthy Eating and Burger and Chips - a bit hypocritical, Jamie?   March 8, 2007

Although I agree wiht the other reviews, in principal - let's just recall that this is the 'Crusader of Healthier School Dinners' and the reason why parents are now having their packed lunches scrutinised by Big Brother. So why is 'Burger and Chips' featured in this book - 'Comic Relief' - exactly who is fooling who?
Another way to make a bit of fame, when sitting on the back boiler, maybe?

This book is great. I just made the flapjacks and they are yummy! The Little Book of Big Treats has fun, simple recipes, and the baking ones would be good to make with kids. Highly recommended and it helps Comic Relief too!

All proceeds from the sale of this book go to `Comic Relief' and further encouragement is given to raise some more money in:-

`The Big Comic Relief Bake-Up'
`Here are three amazing cake recipes that are dead simple to make. They're full of proper ingredients like `Fairtrade' chocolate, organic eggs, dried fruits and healthy nuts and they taste fantastic to boot.
Prepare to flog to your mates at work or school!
You can make as many trays as you like - just multiply the ingredients accordingly, depending on how big your cake sale or Red Nose Day party is going to be. Easy!'

A pamphlet-style book with 32 shiny, high quality pages, split into two sections commencing with the 3 cake recipes:-

Fruity Flapjacks
Fairy cakes
Bloomin' Brilliant Brownies

`We all want to make the world a better place.
By buying this book and rustling up those lovely brownies, fairy cakes and flapjacks for your sale, you have made a fantastic contribution already.
Now, with this next lot of recipes, you can make a difference in your own home. Get everyone involved, have a laugh in the kitchen, then sit down and enjoy the lovely food you have cooked - together.
Then follows a selection of `fun, tasty, simple recipes to get you going. Get stuck in!'

Recipes include:-
The Ultimate Burger and Chips
Meatballs with Pasta
American Pancakes

Each recipe is clearly laid out with a list of ingredients and the method.

This book is great. Brilliant selection of easy to make recipes (particularly the Brownies - if you're a choc-a-holic, you'll love these!!). Simple ideas for fundraising. Great grub and all the 3 quid goes to Comic Relief, to help those less fortunate. Sorted!
