1 out of 5 stars Disappointing Academic Content   September 21, 2008
Too many illustrations leave the format of the pages in a muddle and obscure the important text. A coffee table book and not really one for serious study at A level.

4 out of 5 stars Helps alot.... neccessaty for geog A level   October 10, 2006
This geography text book, by Waugh, is the main book we use at our school. The massive size means it has an answer to almost every geography related question. I have resorted to buying one of these for my own use as carrying them back and forth from school, is, lets say, painful. Although it is a massive book, and a brilliant one, it doesnt give all the neccassary info that is needed to ghet an A grade. This means that you cannot just rely on this book!!!!!!
A shame i know, but, if you didnt have, or use it... well, lets not go there.
Hope this has helped people...

3 out of 5 stars Bulky -- good thing??   April 3, 2005

Good book with lots of information, but perhaps too much (especially if your used to last minute revision like me) None of the information is in note form so you'll have to pull out the relevent stuff you need for your exam/ assignments yourself. To be entirely honest, I have exams in 2 months and just looking at the hefty size of the book puts me off it completely.

5 out of 5 stars A very good approach   March 22, 2005

This is probably the best geography book.
David Waugh is a renowned geographer and an expert in his field.
The text is so simple that one read will let you understand it thoroughly.
I'm in Vancouver, Canada, and in International Baccalaureate programme, and this is THE text book we use. Arguably the best!

In school/Colleges, this book is quite often refered to as a key-text. However, much of the material is stolen, and is occasionally incorrect.

If you plan to take your geography studies further, do not buy this book, it will get you into bad habbits!
