4 out of 5 stars Good ideas and suggestions   April 6, 2001

I was recommended this book by one of my lecturers as I am currently in my final year of university. The recommendation was based on the need to conduct some self-development modules and this book did the trick. Its a worthwhile book to read if only to understand what many business managers may expect of you in future employment. I wouldn't recommend it on the basis of the self analysis test which are overly confusing and intricate butthese only form a small amount of the overall text. I found that some of the ideas in the book were liberal however it based its ideas on fitting into stereotypes which, personally, I did not agree with. An excellent book for passing a personal development option as part of a course but not somehting I would consider to be a wonderful book that I would trust with my career.

It has been excellently written and the writing style is easy to follow and read and does not place too much strain on having to decipher the hidden meanings of management skills analysis.

Overall I would recommend this book for any undergraduate who has self-assessment as a part of their course but I wouldn't advise too much emphasis being placed upon its contents. This is more of a guide book than a map, it'll tell you good things but it won't show you how to get there, you have to discover that for yourself.
