 Inspiring July 27, 2008
This is a brilliant book for any wedding photographer. He gives technical help without being boring and the book is full of inspiring photos. I read most of it before my last wedding and my photos were massively improved.
 Good but not complete June 29, 2008
If you are taking the books name at face value you could be dissapointed, the subjects covered don't go very deep. It is not really a complete guide, more an overview. You will find many unanswered questions.
That said however it is an excellent book which is easy to read, honest, inspirational and useful. I have been taking photos professionally for the past two years and have been on a couple of Damien's photography courses. Damien rally knows what he is talking about and has an infectious enthusiasm for photography which I think comes across well in this book.
Some people think that this book is a bit of a boast with the mention of expensive equipment, but I disagree. I think it is more factual and it just so happens that (understandably) that is the kit he chooses to use for his high class clients.
You'd no doubt learn more from one (or two) of his photography courses, but this is a good cheap start to improving your wedding photography techniques and believing more in yourself as a photographer.
I'd recommend it if only for inspiration and an interesting read.

Before buying this book I thought that anyone considering a photography business would have to read a multitude of books in order to be able to make an informed decision and take the right steps. Forget that!!
This book guides you through all the necessary points that require your attention when nursing your business into development and eventually maintaining a solid market share.
Photography techniques, equipment, lighting, catering to the couples needs and expectations, and all round tips on what to expect and how to prepare before and during the wedding are all beautifully presented.
Unlike most photography books, this book delves deep into the financial aspects of running a business and does not overlook financial details of a business that could have serious results if overlooked.
Basically, it handles the whole issue in terms of a business, an art and as a profession.
I recommend this book to both professionals and ametures alike... there is a great deal of knowledge to be gained!
A Wedding Photographers Dream Buy - Good Value and Excellent Tips. April 7, 2008
Any young aspiring wedding photographer should beg, borrow, steal or failing all else - buy this book. Damien is enthusiastically raising the bar in the world of wedding photography. No longer will the run of the mill old timer film wedding photographers be able to command high prices for mediocre images that can be adequately produced by Uncle Tom clicking merrily away on his Nikon D40 with a amateur zoom lens. The market wants something else, brides want - a little bit of glitz, a touch of hollywood, images straight out of the glossy magazines, to look and FEEL like a celebrity for their special day and Damien is leading the way delivering these dreams. In today's competitive marketplace the customers (at least the the bride and her mother) are Queen. Digital technology has opened up new avenues of image capture, manipulation and printing that enable wedding photographers to deliver services that were unknown of a few years ago - we need photographers at the vanguard of this new era to lead the charge into this whole new world and Damien does this admirably. Not only is this book ground breaking in that he sets out the aesthetic reasoning behind his image creation but he backs it up with logical financial reasoning for his personal investment in his company to get it to it's present pre-eminent position. All the services offered by Damien whether DVD's or training programs fall into this category of high cost, extremely high quality but outstanding value for money, don't knock a strategy that is so obviously working. Buy the book, apply what he recommends in your own inimitable way and you'll be as successful as he is.
Simply Inspirational March 31, 2008
On a recent visit to the Focus show at the NEC in Birmingham, I came across the lovegrove stand, where I picked up a wedding book, an assistant informed that it was a signed copy; it looked ok so I bought it. One or two hours later whilst having a coffee at the show I started to thumb the pages, inspirational is the only word I can think of, what a stunning piece of work. I'm quite new to the world of wedding photography, and I strongly believe that this book will help me on my way.
