5 out of 5 stars Excellent guide   February 23, 2004

This is an excellent resource to have at the desk, whether you are studying or revising. It does what it sets out to do; I guess it can be described as an extended glossary with examples. I found it very useful to get a lucid explanation of a concept, which I could then study in-depth from my main textbook. It also contains a very useful topic revision list, which lists key terms to study for.

i've also got the sociology one and their both really helping me out. they answer all those questions that you just can't ask in the classroom! Definately worth it. It's got a great revision list at the back so your revision is organised.

Very, very good for people doing the first year of Biology who strugle with their concepts! Well recomended, what every Biology student should need!

3 out of 5 stars A reasonably good book   March 25, 2000

This book is quite simply, run of the mill. It is concise but a little bland and lacking in any real substance. It is better than many of my other biology textbooks but falls short of what other reviewers have portrayed.

5 out of 5 stars The Book gives tailor made answers for the exam qustions   December 14, 1999

Bill Indge truely proves that he is the Biology king with this book. He gives definitions to words and explanations to topics that if only I could memorise, would give me straight A's. Never again will I be stuck on a homework this this incredible book by my side.
