Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Essential   March 26, 2008
The authors refuse to simply reject the claims of psychology, claiming that there is no way of getting beyond it to some kind of 'purer' account of human subjectivity. They are, however, willing to engage with the claims made about the human subject in what I read to be a particularly rigorous fashion. For me, this is a major contribution to the field. The chapter on how texts by Piaget are utilsied by educationalists is worth the cover price alone - questioning assumptions that are taken so much for granted by all sides in present educational discourse that, over 20 years on, the analysis still seems fresh...

1 out of 5 stars Risible   March 25, 2008

A risible book about psychology written from a cultural studies perspective by people who know absolutely nothing about the subject.
