'BTEC National for It Practitioners: General' is a useful starting point and as a guideline at least for the core units - but do not get lulled that it's all you need. I found that for assingnment essays the subject was not covered as much in depth as the external verifiers expect you to write: expect to do extra research for each unit. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be anything better (let me know if you have found one) available.

This book is helpful if you are doing the BTEC Nat Cert in Computing. It is most helpful in the business part of it. The only problem is that it has questions for you to answer ... but it has no answers =-S ... Anyway you should get the book if you are doing the course as it will aid you throught out both years and act as a good reference for university or a job in computing so really it is good value for money!xxx

I am actually doin the btec course its helpful IF the unit your doin is actually in it, it doesnt actually cover all the units on the course but for what was there it was quite good.

if you are studying this course or anything to do with the 12 units in this book. then i will suggest you buy it now. it explains everything u need to know.
