Good choice Genetics book June 21, 2004

Visually, the new edition of 'Emery's' is outstanding, and the well-spaced text and impressive figures draw you in. Without realising it, you find yourself reading about something difficult, only to find that you can understand it! Frequent sub-headings make the book easy to navigate and it is rarely necessary to wade through superfluous text when looking for something specific. Each chapter concludes with a summary box and these serve as a useful revision aid. It's limitation as a revision text, though, is that it contains no comprehension test questions. In spite of this, the overall clarity of 'Emery's' makes it an excellent choice for a genetics course book.

This has always been a book to rely on. It is concise, written in a simple way and well illustrated. It is a little expensive for the amount of use I have gottten out of it, but this new edition is significantly updated, in terms of content and layout.
