Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars An oldie but a goodie   September 13, 2007

This book draws freely on the history of the real Money Pit on Oak Island for its inspiration, but that is in no way a bad thing. The result is a gripping thriller with real characters and a story that makes you keep turning the pages. There are unexpected twists and turns, one or two of them particularly clever. I would have given it five stars, but I found the climax of the book a little too contrived, with more or less everything blowing up around the hero and heroine and them escaping by the skin of their teeth each time. That was more like the end of a James Bond film, and I felt the book deserved better.
Other than that, recommended.

4 out of 5 stars Good, but similar to previous work.   January 8, 2002

Having read 'The Relic' and 'Reliqaury', i felt compelled to read 'riptide'. And i'm glad i did, it is a very good book, with well developed characters, particularly Malin Hatch. The authors as always give you alot to think about as you read and at the end of the novel no time to think as the action climax's brilliantly. The only problem i have is that the structure is very similar to their previous work. And in some senses take away from the pleasure as you sort of know what to expect.
However on the whole i would recommend it to anyone who like a good adventurous thriller. By all means it does stand up on it own against their other books, with just a little help.
